BCC Trips

Introduction

BBC organises many trips throughout the year on a ad-hoc and pre-planned basis.

These trips are organised by members and promoted at the monthly meeting and on our WhatsApp group.

Ad-hoc trips typically occur throughout the year as and when members are free to climb, most commonly at the weekends.

The club additionally schedules some bigger trips which take more organisation and forward planning. For example, trips to the Fontainebleau bouldering, the Alps and The lake district or North wales.

Types of trip

Trad trips (UK) Lakes, Peak, Wales, Scotland

Bouldering Fontainebleau (France)

Sport climbing (Wales Wye valley, Portland, Harrisons Rocks)

Holiday Mounataineering & Ski Trouing (week+) Alps summer, Alps Winter, Lundi Island

Thinking of planning a trip?

Short notice trips

For trips that are short notice, for example the upcoming weekend, we tend to plan these in WhatsApp in a new group specific for trip and promote it in the main WhatsApp channel to attract interest from members.

We run a WhatsApp community for this purpose so members can easily see trips that people are planning.

Advanced trips

For trips that require more organisation and planning, for example traveling further afield, more accomodation, larger groups, then we have an excel spreadsheet template you can use to help plan your trip. This helps you find out what gear people have and transport available.

Some of our sheets even include food suggestions and meal planning for week long climbing marathons.
